Salut ! C’est JC, chanteur des Happy on the road ! Voici quelques mots pour vous raconter ma route on the road !
En 1985 j’ai créé les Happy Drivers avec mon pote Terry Larck et avec Alain Wampas qui est arrivé en 1988. Nous avons fait en 12 ans plus de 1000 concerts dans les bars et sur les grandes scènes. Notre route nous a fait parcourir l’Australie, les Etats-Unis, et bien sûr toute l’Europe. Boucherie Productions, notre Label, nous a boostés dans l’aventure des cinq disques que nous avons faits. En 1998 le groupe s’arrête, chacun a envie d’autre chose.
C’est la compagnie Gueule de Loup qui devient mon nouveau bateau. Festival médiéval, théâtre de rue, un nouvel univers me passionne. De nombreux musiciens et comédiens se croisent, c’est le moyen-âge au parfum de Rock’n roll.
En 2017 je rencontre Raquel Navarro du festival psycho de Piñeda del mar en Espagne. Sa passion intacte pour le Rock’n roll me donne envie de reprendre ma guitare électrique. C’est la rencontre géniale avec Tom, contrebassiste des fabuleux Kings of Nuthin et de Gaybeul, batteur des fameux Demented are go. Dès le premier contact le feeling est là. Des japonais, présents au festival, veulent nous avoir chez eux ! Incroyable ! Nous voilà partis pour une nouvelle tournée 2018 ! Mutsumi and the Rats Bones nous fait venir pour dix jours de tournée au pays du soleil levant, génial on adore !
De retour en France, j’ai envie de composer Rock’n roll, cette aventure m’a donné des ailes ! Tom, à la contrebasse, habite à Los Angeles et hélas c’est trop loin pour bosser sérieusement… J’ai besoin de le faire à l’ancienne, en passant du temps en répétition. Phil des No Class, à la basse, qui habite près de chez moi, et qui a remplacé Alain des Happy drivers pendant trois mois est partant à fond ! Pendant un an, nous répétons d’arrache-pied pour créer le répertoire. Les nouveaux morceaux arrivent, ça y est le trio prend forme. 2019, je contact Jeff, sonorisateur des Parabellum, qui a produit en 1986 le premier album des Happy drivers. Je lui propose de travailler sur notre prochain disque, il est d’accord ! Le temps a passé mais l’envie est intacte. Super ! Nous nous retrouvons en février 2020 pour enregistrer le nouvel album « A fond dans le brouillard ».
L’aventure ne fait que commencer, promo, label, tourneur et concerts… à bientôt sur scène !

Hi guys, this is JC, singer for Happy on the road! Here are a few words to tell you about my journey leading up to “on the road!”
In 1985 I created Happy Drivers with my buddy Terry Lark and, then, with Alain Wampas who arrived in 1988. In the following 12 years we gave more than 1,000 concerts from small bars to large stages. Our music took us to Australia, The United States and of course all of Europe. Boucherie Productions, our label, forwarded us successfully to produce five albums! By 1998 though we decided to give it up. Each one of us wanted to do something else.
So, I dedicate myself to the label Gueule de loup, my new baby. I throw myself into Medieval Music and Street Theater: a new album is born. I am super excited about it all. I am surrounded by musicians, actors, and artists that are inspired by all time periods and genres. We somehow fuse Rock-n-Roll and the Middle Ages.
In 2017, I meet Raquel Navarro from the Piñeda de Mar Psychobilly Meeting (Spain). Her fervor for Rock-and Roll intact gets me to think about picking up, once more, my electric guitar. Then, I have a fortunate meeting with Tom, double bass player from Kings of Nuthin and Gaybeul, drummer from the famous Demented are go. From our first meeting we click. Then, some japanese musicians are ready to have us visit their homeland. Vow! Mutsumi and the rats bones have us set up for a 10 day tour in The Land of the Rising Sun. We absolutely love it!
Back in France, I feel like composing Rock-n-Roll music, inspired by our amazing trip. Tom, the bass player lives in Los Angeles; the distance is too much of a barrier for serious work together. I need to dedicate time to old fashioned rehearsing. Then, comes Phil, bass player from No Class who lives near me. (He had replaced Alain for Happy Drivers 3 months at one point. ) Phil is completely in! For one year, we rehearse non-stop to create the repertoire. New songs are coming to life. The trio is jelling! In 2019 I get in touch with Jeff, Parabellum’s sound technician who produced our first Happy driver's album back in 1986. He is happy to become our producer for Happy on the road. Time has gone by but not the thrill. We gather in February to record “A fond dans le brouillard”, our new album.
The adventure is just beginning, promotion, label, people, tours and concerts . . . I will see you on stage!!

こんにちは、皆さん Happy on the roadのボーカル JCです。今日に至るまで私のたどった「Road」（道 を紹介したいと思います。
1985年、仲間のTerry Larckと、3年後に加わったAlain Wampasと共にHappy Drivers を結成しました。以来12年間、小さなバーから大きなステージまで、1,000を超えるコンサートを開催。オーストラリア、北米、そしてもちろん全ヨーロッパを駆け巡 りました。所属レーベルであるBoucherie Productionsは、5枚のアルバムをリリースするあと押しをしてくれました。しかし1998年、メンバーそれぞれの希望があり、Happy Driversは解散しました。
その後私は、自分の新たな「舟」となるGueule de Loupレーベルを立ち上げました。そこでは、中世を再現する各地のフェスティバルやストリートシアターなどの新しい分野にのめりこみ、アルバムも出しました。あらゆるジャンルや時代の音楽にイ ンスパイアされたミュージシャン・俳優達と共に、ロックンロールテイストの中世 音楽を作ってきたのです。
2017年、スペインのサイコビリーフェス「 Piñeda de Mar」で、Raquel Navarroに出 会いました。彼女のロックンロールに対するひたむきな情熱に触れ、私も再びエレ キギターを手に取りたくなりました。さらに、伝説のKings of Nuthinのコントラバス Tom、さらにかの有名なDemented are goのドラマーGaybeulとのラッキーな出会いが 続きました。彼らとは、出会った瞬間から気持ちが通じ合いました。フェスではさ らに、日本のミュージシャン達にも出会い、素晴らしいことに、彼らが私たちを招 いてくれるという流れに。2018年、ツアーに出発！Mutsumi and the Rats Bonesが 、「日出ずる国」日本での10日間のツアーを実現してくれたのです！最高にハッピ ーな経験でした。
フランスに戻ると、新しい翼を得たかのように、ロックをやりたくなっていました 。ただ、コントラバスのTomの拠点はロスアンゼルスで、あまりに遠すぎました。私は、昔ながらのやり方で、リハーサルに多くの時間をかけたい。そこに、No Class のPhilが現れました。彼は近所に住んでいる上、Happy Drivers時代に3ヶ月間、Alain に代わってプレーした経緯があったのです。完璧でした。1年間、レパートリー作り のために猛然とリハーサルを続けました。新曲が続々と完成し、トリオの形ができ あがってきました。2019年、Parabellumの音響担当であり、Happy Driversの最初の アルバムを1986年にプロデュースしたJeffとコンタクトを取ると、彼が「Happy on the road」の新アルバムのプロデュースを引き受けてくれました。多くの時間が流れ たものの、やりたい気持ちは変わりません。2020年2月、新しいアルバム「A fond dans le brouillard」収録のために集結しました・・・
